DOGS: ANAL GLANDS

Eww, its a stinky subject!

You’ve probably heard of them.

Little glands that sit either side of their bottom – if you imagine a clock face and at 4 and 8 o’clock are two small openings that allow a secretion – its what other dogs smell, when they’re smelling poop!

But sometimes anal glands can cause problems.

They can block, get infected, secrete onto your carpet…..

They’re easily expressed, and we can show you how. But if there are other problems, such as impaction or infection, thats where we can help.

Contact us if you need advice, or just reassurance, we’re always available.
